Graduation Pathway Exploration Activities 2025/2026
Between January and May 2026, our school organized a series of "Graduation Pathway Exploration Activities." Co-organized by the Social Work Department and the School Leaver Support Team, these activities aimed to provide parents of graduating students with comprehensive and multi-perspective life transition information. Through a series of meticulously planned site visits, the school hoped to assist parents in gaining a more thorough understanding of the diverse pathways and adult service networks available for their children upon graduation, thereby constructing a future blueprint that balances both feasibility and potential development. The team led parents on in-depth visits to several benchmark rehabilitation institutions, training centers, and social enterprises in Hong Kong, focusing primarily on the following three core pathways: Social Enterprise Practice and Employment Experience In mid-January, the team pioneered a visit to the Lily Valley Restaurant under the Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service. This visit allowed parents to gain firsthand understanding of the operational models of social enterprises, and to see how a supported, friendly work environment can nurture students' self-reliance and open employment potential. Professional Vocational Skills Training To acquire the latest updates on skills training, parents attended the open days of the Shine Skills Centre in Pokfulam and Kwun Tong between February and April. They also conducted an on-site inspection of the Hong Chi Pinehill Vocational Training Centre and Hostel, gaining deep insights into how systematic vocational skills training assists students in seamlessly integrating into society. Integrated Rehabilitation and Community Residential Planning Addressing the demands for long-term care and supported living, the itinerary also arranged for parents to visit the TWGHs Jockey Club Rehabilitation Complex (Wong Chuk Hang), the TWGHs Mok Law Shui Wah Integrated Vocational Rehabilitation Centre (Wah Kwai Estate), and the TWGHs Li In Li Yuk Lun Father & Son Happy Living Court (Shui Chuen O), which provides supported hostel services. These visits offered parents a more concrete and transparent understanding of community rehabilitation resources and residential planning. These experiential visits have not only brought fresh perspectives to our parents, helping them pave the way ahead of time in their daily lives, but have also enabled them to bridge their children to the most desirable and appropriate pathways based on their actual needs and capabilities. Our school will continue to mobilize resources from all sectors, working hand in hand with parents to guide our children toward an independent and fulfilling adult life.
