Teaching Strategies

E-Books

E-learning is engaging and motivating. It enhances students' self-directed learning abilities and helps them acquire the skills to learn things by themselves. The school is committed to promoting the "Special school's school-based learning materials digitization scheme". Students with mild and moderate intellectual disability can both participate in digital learning at school and at home through the "BYOD" (Bring Your Own Device) program. It diversifies assignments and makes learning more enjoyable.

Interactive Strategies

The school implements various interactive strategies according to different key stages to boost classroom interaction and student engagement among students with mild and moderate intellectual disability. For example, students may be divided into small groups of two people or four to six people, progressively develop study skills through group-based learning, such as eye contact, mutual appreciation and encouragement, discussion and presentation techniques, etc. During group discussions, students are encouraged to involve in it by playing their respective group roles.

Customized Student Response Tools
To enhance student engagement in classroom activities, the school implements various strategies to facilitate effective responses and engagement from students, such as using the teaching software 'GoTalk NOW" to assist students in expressing themselves. Also, there are various types of learning kits, communication boards, response cards and discussion prompts designed by teachers so that students can express themselves and participate in class in different ways, thereby fostering learning outcomes.

Rewards and Feedback

To create a joyful learning environment where students feel as if they are immersed in a game the school adopts a unified "Good Student Stamp Card" reward scheme. It aims to improve students' classroom behaviors and reach our educational goals of "be autonomous and self-confident, learn moral values to be virtuous, explore and innovate, integrate into the community." Students who achieve specific targets in class can earn "Tung Tung Wah Wah" reward tokens.
