Learning and Teaching
Key Stages and Subjects
Our subjects and curriculum design focus on the life planning of four key stages, linking the curriculum across different grades with a smooth transition based on our teaching and learning approaches. We set different life planning goals for students according to their key stages: self-care management for junior primary students, self-understanding for senior primary students, self- development for junior secondary students, and career planning for senior secondary students. In line with these life planning goals, the primary curriculum is designed to expand students' learning experiences and horizons so that they can learn broadly. Through various subjects, students can learn to observe things from multiple perspectives and apply their knowledge to daily life. On the other hand, the curriculum also emphasizes the importance of leisure, rest, entertainment, and sports for students' overall growth.
The junior secondary curriculum builds upon the foundation laid in the primary curriculum and prepares students for the transition to senior secondary stage. Therefore, the curriculum features some special subjects, emphasizing the development of higher order thinking skills, practical life skills, basic readiness to work nd language proficiency for daily use. To facilitate a smooth transition to senior secondary stage, internal internship activities at school have been implemented at the junior secondary stage, allowing students to preliminarily experience the differences between work and school life.
Additionally, to prepare students for adult life after graduation, the senior secondary curriculum includes Vocational Training subject so that students can learn basic job skills and build up appropriate work attitudes. Through various off-campus internship activities, students can apply what they learnt in real-world settings.
Students can also enroll in vocational-oriented Applied Learning courses as one of their elective subjects. These courses include hotel housekeeping, baking practices, catering services, office assistant skills, and others. Typically, they are provided by education institutions designated by the Education Bureau. Students should attend classes on school days or at weekends, with tuition fees subsidized by the school.
